OIL TANKER DISASTER ON MAURITIUS CORAL REEF

OCT - DEC 20

When I learnt about the devastating and tragic news of a Japanese oil tanker breaching on the coral reef in Mauritius, my heart dropped.

To hear the atrocity that it has caused to the marine life, killing and suffocating hundreds of dolphins, being washed up onto the coast, locals are shaving their hair off in the help to soak and clean up the oil. incredibly sad and potentially unrepairable damage to the coral reef and its inhabitants. heartbreaking.

My pals at Orca Sound Project (a wonderful team who help activate communities in the constant fight against the plastic waste crisis by providing an immediate and globally accessible solution), have set up a crowd funding site that will go directly to the locals on the ground, liaising with those at ecosud, the environmental NGO on the ground helping communities in southern Mauritius.
